DSWAI AGM announced for 8th December

The Annual General Meeting of The Dry Stone Wall Association of Ireland will take place on Saturday 8th December 2018 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone from 11am to 1pm.

Please confirm your attendance as soon as possible as admin need to know numbers well in advance in order to change to a larger room if required.

Last call for new appointments to the Board of Directors: The DSWAI is seeking to expand membership of its Board of Directors. The deadline for applications is midnight, Friday 23rd November, 2018.

The board of directors of the DSWAI is responsible for the development of the organisation and the creation of its vision and mission. As a director you play a key role in creating the strategic direction of the organisation, representing the profession on a national and international level and developing and supporting the development of best practice of drystone walling.

Please note this role is not remunerated.

The DSWAI is particularly interested in applications from those working in the drystone community, professionals with experience in fundraising, administration, public relations, accounting and strategic planning. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of the sector and be able to work independently and remotely. To be eligible as a candidate applicants must be a member of DSWAI in good standing. Candidates must be supported by 2 members in good standing.

The appointment of new directors will take place at the AGM when successful applicants will be presented for membership vote. All Candidates will be informed of the results within ten days of the AGM. On election to the board directors will be required to sign the DSWAI code of conduct before attending their first board meeting.
