Erasmus+ is a European Union initiative that encourages education, training, sports, and youth development through global exchanges, skill improvement, and the exchange of practices (https:/erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu).

The host organization is Rempart (www.rempart.com), which encompasses over 180 local associations dedicated to preserving and promoting heritage across France.

This autumn (28th July to 11th August), we will send a team leader (any age) and eight young volunteers (18-30) to join an ongoing restoration project at a historic site in France.

The group will gain knowledge of traditional masonry skills and assist in the building's restoration.

The location this year is the beautiful village of la Mure, near  Grenoble at La Chappelle st. Beaumont.

There will also be plenty of excursions and opportunity for hiking in  the stunning local landscape.

The location for this year is the charming village of La Mure, close to Grenoble at La Chapelle St. Beaumont.

Each year, there is an opportunity for a person of any age to become the group Leader and lead the team to France.

No conservation experience is required, and funded training is offered.

This year, the team Leader is DSWAI member Ross Gavigan.

Ross has recently come back from a training session for group leaders that took place from 28th March to 11th April 2026.
